A Nutritionist Weighs in...

The Fat Flush Plan will most likely produce significant weight loss during the first phase because your caloric intake will be very low (hence the laundry list of supplements). If you only follow phase one for two weeks, it would probably be safe, but I question the safety of staying on such a low-calorie diet for much longer. Any diet that eliminates dairy is also questionable, since that provides a variety of nutrients and fits well into any weight loss program (as long as you are not lactose intolerant). If you choose to follow The Fat Flush Plan, I would recommend only staying on phases one and two for a few weeks, and then moving to phase three, which provides a more balanced nutrition plan.

Lose weight quickly with just enough calories to allow you to breathe on the first phase of this plan?

In addition to healthy concerns, I do not find the Fat Flush Plan all that practical because dieters will have to prepare the cran-water mixture and the Long Life cocktail several times a day, which can be challenging when you are at work or traveling. It also does not provide enough calories to allow you to engage in vigorous activity, which could be a problem if you have an active lifestyle. This diet would also be problematic if you have a family, since it is not appropriate for children (too low in calories and nutrients) and your spouse might not be willing to starve themselves with you.

Diet Pros Diet Cons
  • Encourages healthy fats and carbohydrates
  • Offers sample meal plans, shopping lists and recipes
  • Allows you to gradually adopt an exercise program
  • Must watch portion sizes
  • Very limited calories and carbohydrates in phases one and two
  • No dairy during phases one and two
  • Many supplements recommended
