A Nutritionist Weighs in...

No matter which way you slice it, fast food is not the healthiest food. Even the plan says that fast food contains substances that can increase free radical damage to your cells - meaning cause cancer along with inflammation. Nobody can deny the fact that so many people eat at fast food joints regularly. This plan does provide better (not necessarily healthier) choices for fast food. It recommends too many supplements. You should consult with a certified health professional before taking so many pills, especially if you are on medication.

If you're going to eat fast food, making healthier choices will help you get slimmer

If you really eat fast food quite regularly, this plan can help you make better choices. Those who cook at home will not benefit from this plan or from the tips given for those who eat out regularly.

Remembering when to take all your supplements may also be a problem. There are so many pills recommended, remembering and affording them can prove to be difficult.

After you lose the weight, how are you supposed to maintain it? The diet offers no maintenance plan to follow the initial six-week meal plan. Losing 100 pounds in one year is a major accomplishment, but you will be deeply upset if you gain it back soon after losing it.

Diet Pros Diet Cons
  • Made for fast food lovers
  • Fits into your lifestyle
  • Suggests non-strenuous exercise (walking)
  • Offers very helpful tips for eating out
  • Addresses vegetarians, children, and business travelers who eat fast food
  • Eating fast food is unhealthy
  • Can become expensive
  • Too many supplements
  • Doesn't really apply to those who cook a lot for themselves
  • Unrealistic weight loss goals (100 pounds in one year)
  • No maintenance plan
  • Supplemental website not very helpful
