How to Lower Cholesterol

1) Eat a wide variety of fresh and cooked fruits and vegetables. The more colors in your diet the better.

2) Stay away from trans fat. Trans fat is found in baked and processed foods, cake mixes, and snack foods. Eat less saturated fat.

3) Eat foods as close to their natural form as possible. As a general rule, the longer the shelf life the more unpronounceable ingredients the body isn’t sure what to do with.

4) Eat meatless meals two or three times a week. Substitute meat and poultry with beans and whole grains.

5) Eat fish two or three times a week.. If you do not like fish take an Omega 3 supplement. Ask your doctor about taking supplements to prevent interactions with medication you may already be taking.

6) Exercise. Studies show that even losing a few pounds can lower cholesterol.
