A Nutritionist Weighs in...

Weight loss is possible using L.A. Weight Loss guidelines, but be aware that the counselors at the L.A. Weight Loss centers are not registered dietitians or licensed nutritionists. It is also worrisome that participants of the program can receive conflicting information from the various counselors they see each week, and that dieters are able to set their own unrealistic weight goals.

Furthermore, a 1,100 calorie diet is not the safest way to lose weight, as it has too few calories to provide balanced nutrition with a sufficient intake of necessary vitamins and minerals. The two supplements recommended are not FDA approved and could be dangerous to your health.

One-on-one counseling and you too can lose weight

Since the L.A. Weight Loss program is individualized, there is flexibility in planning your meals and snacks, based on your schedule and needs. The program also allows most foods, though keeping the correct number of exchanges assigned to each meal can get tricky. Traveling is doable, as long as you bring a full supply of L.A. Lites. And while your family could eat the same meals as you, remember the plan is very personalized, so they may want more than one starch exchange at a meal!
