A Nutritionist Weighs in...

This plan is nutritionally sound. Even though the flavor themes restrict dieters to similar foods on specific days, the days are rotated so that there is a tremendous overall variety in the food choices, and dieters are exposed to an abundance of nutrients. This fact is reinforced by the multitude of healthy ingredients in the recipes.

This diet has many simple tools that dieters can use to benefit them and their entire families. The guidelines are also clear and simple to understand. Dieters can therefore experience success by using the basic principles without necessarily sticking to the meal plans. Whether or not you question if there is enough scientific evidence to support the accuracy of the "Flavor Point" theory, this plan is a safe and nutritious plan to follow for the entire six weeks.

"Bore" your senses into eating healthier and eating less

This diet includes a great deal of variety and is easy to modify. It does involve a lot of cooking and this may not appeal to all dieters. And all the recommended grocery items may not be available to everyone at their local grocery stores. The strict six week regimen may also be hard to follow everyday, and the repetition of flavors may get monotonous.

Diet Pros Diet Cons
  • Focus on whole and healthy foods
  • Great recipes
  • Simple guidelines
  • Tips are easy to understand
  • Beneficial for the entire family
  • Hard to follow if you don't like cooking
  • Specified brand names may not be available in all areas
  • Very specific six week plan
